What's new in 2012-2013 Technology... Tech Camp Workshops and Courses

Picture
In the upcoming school year, 2012-2013, the ORR School District will continue to provide professional development opportunities in the area of technology via "Tech Camp". Beginning in August, Tech Camp workshops will address a variety of technology areas in two hour, workshop formatted sessions. Teachers will be able to select areas of interest and need to assist them with better integration of new technologies or use as refreshers to troubleshoot past Technology offerings. Tech Camp will meet approximately bi-monthly throughout the year at locations throughout the District, with a variety of offerings designed to meet the needs and provide time for teachers to work with technology.  Click the August navigation tab above to see some of the exciting choices that were offered to Districtwide staff  garnering 2 PDPs for each workshop attended. In October, Tech Camp Workshops will be held Monday, October 22  and Wednesday, October 24 and will focus on iBooks Author, The Flipped Classroom, and Students and Blogging...The Power of Incentive Writing. These sessions will be held at the Junior High School Mac Lab from 2:30 - 4:30 and 4:30 - 6:30. Please see the schedule of sessions by clicking the "Tech Camp Workshop" navigation tab for October to find the one that suits your needs. As found in the August Tech Camp Workshops, cross-pollination or cross grade level projects, are sure to help reach all students in an authentic and motivating manner...so be sure to ask your principal if you have an interest in  possible release time to collaborate with other school colleagues.
October Tech Camp has been cancelled due to low enrollment...stay tuned as we will try again in January to see if that works better for more of you! Thank you to those that did sign up and hopefully we will see you in January for the exciting offerings!
** Input from administration and staff will help us meet District needs with our workshop sessions and will help      drive future offerings. So please feel free to let us know where your interests lie!
