What is iBooks Author and how can I use it? Well, that is the question that I hope to answer in this Blog segment. iBooks Author as depicted in the advertisement from Apple below is a way for you to create your very own textbooks on your MacBook and then share them with your students on iPads and iPhones via the iBooks App. One major complaint of using a manufactured textbook is that the text does not explore the topic in enough depth. Another is that it covers material that is unnecessary and the graphics are static photos that cannot be manipulated. Well, iBooks Author solves that dilemma letting you create your own textbook, in your own style, covering the material you want to cover in the depth that you see fit. It also allows you to import 3D graphics that students can manipulate or photos that hyperlink to other sources for more in- depth study.
